श्री जयंत चौधरी ने बागपत के टीकरी कस्बा में दिवंगत रामबीर राठी के गाँव में उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि दी। गन्ना किसान रामबीर राठी की, गन्ने का बकाया ना पाने और बैंक से लोन ना मिलने के कारण, आत्महत्या की घटना ने मुझे अन्दर तक हिलाकर रख दिया है। मैं ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि संकट और दुःख की इस घड़ी में रामबीर के परिवार को संबल मिले।
सरकार द्वारा गन्ना बकाये को लेकर किसानों के हक़ में निर्णय लेने में देरी, हर दिन किसानों पर भारी पड़ रही है। रालोद जिला स्तर पर गन्ना किसानों की माँगो को ले कर आंदोलन कर रहा है और आने वाले दिनों में किसानों को न्याय दिलाने के लिए आंदोलन को और तेज़ किया जायेगा। बढ़ते क़र्ज़ के भोज के कारण उन गन्ना किसानो से किसी भी प्रकार की वसूली पर रोक लगाने या क़र्ज़ माफ़ी की मांग बिलकुल जायज़ है, जिनका बकाया प्राइवेट चीनी मिले नहीं दे रही हैं। राज्य और केंद्र की सरकारों को तुरंत इन दिशा में सकारात्मक कदम उठाने चाहिए।
Today I was at Baghpat's Tikri village to pay my homage to late Rambeer Rathi. Sugarcane farmer Rambeer Rathi committed suicide after not getting the sugarcane arrears and any loan from the banks. I am deeply disturbed at this sad turn of events. At this difficult time I pray that God will grant them the serenity and peace that they need to get through this and stay strong.
As the state government is not taking any strong decision in favour of the farmers,each passing day is becoming difficult for them. RLD is organizing agitations at the district level in support of the demands of the sugarcane farmers and will be intensifying the agitation in the coming days to get justice for the farmers.The demand for a moratorium on recovery of loan or a farm loan waiver scheme is justified considering the high levels of indebtedness and no cash flows. State and Central governments should immediately take positive steps in this direction.
